Bloomsburg Drops Pair to West Chester in Baseball

WEST CHESTER--The Bloomsburg University baseball team dropped a pair of games to West Chester on Friday by scores of 9-8 and 7-1.
In game one, the Huskies led 8-6 heading into the bottom of the seventh inning only to the see the Golden Rams rally by scoring three runs and pull out the win. The Huskies opened a 6-0 lead after an inning and a half with Rob Watlock (Plains/Coughlin) driving four of the runs, two of them on a his fourth homer of the year in the top of the second.
After West Chester cut the lead to 6-4, the Huskies made it 8-4 with a pair of runs in the top of the fourth. Watlock and Kevin Ward (Upper Darby/Monsignor Bonner) each had RBI singles in the inning.
Watlock finished three for four with five RBI, while Syril Kress (Littlestown/Littlestown) was two for four with three runs scored.
In game two, the Huskies took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first when Andy Bucher scored on an error. West Chester, though, reached Bloomsburg starter Dustin Johnson (Sunbury/Shikellamy) for four runs in the fourth and three more in the sixth.
For the Huskies, Jeremy Eck (Williamsport/Montoursville) went three for four.
The Huskies, 5-20, 0-2 in the PSAC East, will host West Chester, 15-10, 2-0 in the PSAC East, Saturday at 1 p.m. in a twinbill.
